RecHound is primarily a read-based integration — it reads your balances and transactions from Xero. Where RecHound does write back (such as manual journal posting for prepayments and revenue recognition), it uses Xero's standard API and creates a clear audit entry in Xero.

Yes. RecHound uses bank-grade encryption for data in transit and at rest. We do not store your Xero credentials — authentication is handled via Xero's OAuth system. You can disconnect RecHound from Xero at any time from within your Xero organisation settings.

How does the approval workflow work?

Accounts can be assigned to preparers and approvers. A preparer completes the reconciliation and submits it for review. The assigned approver receives a notification, reviews the workpapers, and can approve or reject with comments. Once approved, the period can be locked to prevent further changes.

What happens if a balance changes in Xero after I've approved a reconciliation?

RecHound detects post-approval changes in Xero and flags the affected account. You'll see an alert in Rec HQ so you can review what changed and decide whether to re-open the reconciliation.
